AGAR Announces April Food Show at Gillette Stadium/April 9

Opportunity for media to speak with independent restaurant operators and AGAR experts about rising food costs

Taunton, MA: April 2, 2008: AGAR, New England’s largest independent broadline food distributor will host their 9th annual food show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on April 9, 2008. Show hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Over 250 vendors in the AGAR network will have a presence at the April Food Show. Vendors will be featuring products including Beef, Seafood, Pork, Lamb, Poultry as well as Non-Foods, Dry & Frozen Grocery items. The food show is open to any AGAR customer as well as anyone looking to AGAR for future food distribution needs.

Over 1200 people, mostly independent restaurant operators are registered to attend AGAR’s food show. Many will be looking to AGAR to help them provide profitable solutions to counter the historic rise in food costs.

“This show is usually attended by independent operators who are looking for new menu ideas and values for alternative products to help with food costs, stated Karen Bressler, president & CEO of AGAR. “And while they will still be looking to us for new products, many of these people will be coming to us this year because they know we can offer them solutions to counter this historic rise in food costs. Our main goals are to help keep our
customers profitable during these times and build customer traffic.”

More Solutions:
This past fall, AGAR announced that they appointed veteran Boston area Chef Jeffrey Merry to take on the role of corporate executive chef. Merry a Natick Mass resident will work closely with independent restaurant operators to help them with menu solutions and cost-cutting resolutions to
assist them in becoming more profitable.
