Wholesale Food Distributor AGAR Announces New Senior Management Lineup

 

Taunton, MA: July 14, 2009: New England Wholesale food distributor AGAR, product specialist for independent restaurants, retailers and other food service providers has announced Marshfield resident Greg Burgess has been promoted to the position of chief operating officer and Chris Kelberman of Bolton, MA. has accepted the position of vice president of finance.

As part of AGAR’s commitment to customer profitability and quality products, the company has made these important changes to stay at the forefront on innovation and sales strategies to keep the AGAR customer profitable.
 

Greg Burgess: In addition to his current oversight of sales, human resources, and information technology, Mr. Burgess will assume leadership responsibilities for procurement and operations at AGAR, as well as overall business strategy, buying techniques and sales strategies.

Burgess, previously executive vice president of sales, finance & administration has been at AGAR for over 10 years. He has overseen several functions and has proven to be vital to AGAR’s growth and stability. He has served several roles in finance at AGAR including VP finance & administration as well as Controller when he arrived at AGAR.

Chris Kelberman: In her new role, Ms. Kelberman will be responsible for overall strategy including the finance department, financial reporting, analysis, audit, budgeting, and credit & collections.

Ms. Kelberman has a very impressive background in finance that she brings to AGAR. Most recently, Kelberman served as VP of Finance & Administration for a division of Roper Industries. Her other professional roles include Director of Finance, Asia, for Fisher Scientific’s Biosciences Division, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Cytyc Corporation, as well as serving as Controller for Financial Start Ups, Emerging Markets, for Boston Scientific.
