Korean main course menus usual have Bulgogi (Korean barbecue) which is beef or pork marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and chilli pepper, cooked on a grill at the table. Also Bibimbap, a mixed meal of rice topped with vegetables, beef and egg, and topped with chilli pepper paste. Kimchi whiich includes vegetables fermented in a brine of anchovies, ginger, garlic, green onion and chilli pepper. Galbi is pork or beef ribs cooked on the table, and accompanied by rice and various side dishes. Gimbap is seaweed rice and strips of vegetables, egg, ham and pollock, rolled in laver seaweed. Naengmyeon cold noodles consists of several varieties of thin, hand-made buckwheat noodles served in a large bowl with a tangy iced broth, raw julienned vegetables, and often a boiled egg and/or cold beef. Gochujang hot chilli pepper is an indispensable condiment. Songpyeon is a rice cake decorated with sesames, soy beans, and chestnuts.
